A brief story - It's a woman's world

I've been doing this job for over 20 years now. And each recording session provides me a tremendous gladness. One day I was booked to record in a remote controlled session with an American client based in Paris, the studio and agent based in New York, a linguist in Paris and the communication agency based in London. We start the session. The client keeps silence. The sound engineer is happy with the sound quality and the communication agency directs me. Here, a higher pitch, here, little lower, here, more cheerful, faster, etcetera. After 20 minutes of recording, the client from Paris suddenly stopps the session. Excuse me, but I believe it should be a man’s voice. It is indeed a man's voice in the original version. No?

After a significant silence, the communication agency answers: Yes, indeed, it's a man's voice in the original version. Then comes the sound engineer. Yes, there's a man's voice, but Claudia's voice matches really well with the project. Don't you want to listen her with the soundtrack? Everybody jumps at the chance and approves the option. Listening to my voice and the soundtrack edited in a minute by the SE, I thought to myself, well, not that bad. After the replay, the client, the agency, the sound engineer and the linguist all approved, what was initially a casting error. We finished the session. Everyone was happy. So happy that the client even more convinced has asked to change the original commercial and replace the male's voice by a female voice too. Well, at the end, I will never know who between my talent or the agencies persuasion skills, finally succeeded to convince the client.
